Helping People
Every year the Rivers Foundation (in consultation with its board), chooses several credible organisations that are effective, fruitful and display the necessary financial integrity in the management of their affairs. We continually assess the needs of our chosen beneficiaries during each financial year to determine the levels of assistance and volunteer involvement required.
Yes please, you may donate clean clothing still in good condition, to our “Love Wardrobe”, so we can love and honour our beneficiaries.
You, your company or business can participate by donating finances, goods or services to the Rivers Foundation. Donations are directed and accounted for with integrity and transparency, providing businesses with an ideal avenue for directing their social action grants and budgets. Businesses are also eligible for a Section 18A Tax Certificate (SARS tax relief), as a result of your donations. Certificates are available on request.
Get involved any day from Tuesday to Friday mornings from 7.00 am in Sandton, or Friday mornings in Durban, to help us prepare sandwiches for our school children.
100% of all donations received by the Foundation are directed to support our beneficiaries. None of the funds are used for salaries of staff, marketing or admin related services.
We do not fund any individuals whether directly or indirectly, as mandated by our board and auditors.
The Foundation is involved in a number of different initiatives. This results in a lot of Admin work as we have to keep a record of goods received and goods donated. We pack food hampers, sort donated clothing before distributing to our beneficiaries, this helps us to donate goods that match the needs of our beneficiaries. We also get to visit our beneficiaries to deliver goods and play our part in emergency relief projects like helping to rebuild homes that have been destroyed by fire or floods.
We have an avenue to help you to support the teen girls with the toiletry donation. We prepare ready-made toiletry hampers for you to purchase at R50 or R30 per pack, these are made available at Sister’s meetings. You can also make a donation by EFT with ref “toiletry” to the Foundation account.
You can still make a donation to the Rivers Foundation, please specify the beneficiary as a ref. We will then re-direct your donation to the specified beneficiary. We can send the beneficiaries’ thank you letter if you require that.
Yes please we do, we dress Matric students from less fortunate backgrounds to be able to participate on this big day of their school life. We welcome any donation of shoes, dresses, suits, jackets, shirts, pants, costume jewellery, new underwear and toiletry (all in good and clean condition please).
